HISTORY/OVERVIEW
The Triumph TR3 (short for Triumph Roadster 3) is a passenger car produced by the British car manufacturer Triumph from 1955 to 1962. The updated version, known informally as the TR3A, went into production in 1957 and benefited from a larger grille for better cooling , power increased to 100hp and door handles. This Triumph was imported from California in 2007 and the restoration was completed in Italy around 2012, since then it has been used very little and kept in a private collection.
EXTERNAL
The paintwork was recently restored including the engine compartment in Powder Blue and presents itself
In excellent condition with only minimal signs of normal use. A detailing polish treatment has just been completed. A feeler gauge test revealed no accidents.
The underbody was restored a few years ago and is in solid original condition, the chassis is solid and does not require any work to be able to use the car.
INTERNAL
A complete Beige interior was installed at the time of the restoration, including a matching hood cover and carpet. The hood and side windows were also installed during the restoration and are in good and usable condition.
MECHANICS
Mechanically the car has the original engine with initials and serial number corresponding to the chassis number as confirmed by the English Museum. However, it has been used very little since the restoration and requires maintenance before it can be used, as it hasn't been turned on since before Covid. It turns freely and the brakes are not locked. It is equipped with the rare optional Overdrive gearbox as per the chassis number.
It is increasingly rare to find these English Spiders in solid condition and with a known history, they are an excellent investment for the future.
