HISTORY/OVERVIEW
The Ford Escort is a medium-sized car produced in 4 series by the American car manufacturer Ford between 1968 and 2000. In 1986 a deep restyling gave rise to the "Escort Mk3B". Numerous parts were changed, such as the front, completely redesigned, softer and more tapered, the bumpers integrated into the body, the rear light clusters (enlarged) and the interior (completely redesigned, with new dashboard, seats, steering wheel, new door panels and roof lining). The renewal also involved the Cabriolet which from 1987 was available in the 1.4 Ghia version.
EXTERNAL
The paintwork is the original factory Red, it has never been repainted and shows normal signs of use and age, however a polish has just been completed and the car is presentable. A feeler gauge test showed no accidents.
The underbody is also completely original and generally solid, with no signs of accidents.
INTERNAL
The interior is completely factory original, in overall good condition. The door panels and dash are original, as is the entire interior. Some normal signs of use and wear are on the armrests mainly, however the original vinyl hood opens and closes easily and keeps water out and the dash is in good condition, as are the seats.
MECHANICS
Mechanically the car has the original engine with code and serial number corresponding to the chassis number as per the registration document. The engine starts immediately and the car can be driven on private land, however it has not been used for some years and the last technical check has expired, normal maintenance is recommended before use.
These "Ghia" version Cabriolets were very expensive at the time and are reliable cars for summer and
for daily use, with a usable engine and low fuel consumption
