HISTORY/OVERVIEW
In the early 1950s, the so-called microcars became widespread in Europe, i.e. curious small cars with three or four wheels, capable of carrying two people and their luggage; generally driven by motorcycle-derived engines, these microcars were for many the first means of transport after the motorcycle. Just as the Italian Isetta was built under license abroad (for example in Germany by BMW), cars conceived abroad were also built under license in Italy.
This microcar that Mival of Gardone Valtrompia built starting in 1953 under license from the German Messerschmitt, the famous aircraft factory converted after the war to the construction of small cars.
The KR 175 and subsequently 200 (or Mivalina in Italy) had the characteristic of the two seats in tandem: the fairing gave the car the appearance of the cockpit of a fighter plane.
EXTERNAL
The paintwork is original and has been recently restored, including the moldings and finishing details. It is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. The underbody is preserved and in solid original condition from normal use. A feeler gauge test. The color appears original.
INTERNAL
The interiors are original, well preserved including the dashboard and rare details, the instruments, the key and the original plate
MECHANICS
Mechanically the car has the original "matching numbers" engine as shown in the extract. It has always rested in a museum and maintenance is required for restarting, however the engine runs freely as do the brakes and steering.
